It is almost that time again when we can collect maple sap and turn it into the most delicious thing that ever met up with a pancake! We're having our late January freeze this weekend, and hopefully it will be followed up with a warm week mid-month.
If you're thinking of doing this in the next few weeks, get prepared now. Have your spiles and buckets at the ready, clean and ready to go. If you don't have them, buy them now because it can take up to a week or two to order them in. Perhaps you're lucky though and can buy them locally (not the case here!).
Get you're outdoor gear ready- such as a fire pit and stainless steel pans to boil down that syrup- learn from my mistake and don't do it indoors (you're wallpaper will just fall off the walls!).
